Those hackers from team PI have released the Xbox 360 experience kiosk demo disc as an ISO. They say this demo contains no media protection and therefore it will run on the Xbox 360 when burned to a DVD-R disc. The disc contains playable demo’s on the disk such as Call of Duty 2, which could also be hackable, as PI speculates.

With the new year fast approaching many of us look to the unenviable task of backing up last years data to make room for more of the same. That being said, rojakpot has taken a look at some of the data compression programs available and has a few insights that may help when looking for the best fit. From the article: “The best compressor of the aggregated fileset was, unsurprisingly, WinRK. It saved over 54MB more than its nearest competitor - Squeez. But both Squeez and SBC Archiver did very well, compared to the other compressors. The worst compressors were gzip and WinZip. Both compressors failed to save even 200MB of space in the aggregated results.
Nitesh Dhanjani has posted an e-mail thread between Steve Jobs and himself. Dhanjani argues “I’d like to see Apple developers gain more choice. With every iteration of OSX, there seems to be so much effort put into innovation of desktop components, but the development environment is age old.” I agree with Dhanjani. What has Apple done recently to wow the developers, and make it fun to code Cocoa components? I’ve looked into the Objective C and Xcode environment but compared to Microsoft’s .NET solutions, it doesn’t impress me at all. I think Apple can do a lot better. Steve Jobs disagrees. Yahoo News is reporting that Patricia Santangelo of New York will be taking on the RIAA in court without an attorney. It seems that Ms. Santangelo has committed over $24,000 due to her case and simply cannot afford to continue with the services of an attorney.” From the article: “Her former lawyer, Ray Beckerman, says Santangelo doesn’t really need him. ‘I’m sure she’s going to win,’ he said. ‘I don’t see how they could win. They have no case. They have no evidence she ever did anything. They don’t know how the files appeared on her computer or who put them there.’
